Description
During this day-long symposium, nearly 30 of the most informed professionals, design practitioners, and officials will draw on their experience to explain the current situation and present challenges and opportunities of extreme heat to cities. They will bring research findings, case studies, and best practices from lab to design, manufacturing to installation, policy change to implementation, and new construction to comprehensive urban retrofitting.

Panelists include Jeffrey Raven (NYIT’s architect and urban extreme heat expert), Jason Vollen (AECOM, High Performance Buildings), Chris Benedict (Architecture & Energy Limited), Anna Dyson (moderator), and Kurt Shickman (Global Cool Cities Alliance). Each will be expected to speak for eight minutes and discuss topics like building enclosure and green roofs, passive strategies, neighborhood and regional scale planning.
