Course is designed to provide landscape architects with continuing education for license renewal. Passive solar techniques include the use of deciduous trees for shading, evergreen trees for wind blocks, water purification, cool and green roofs. Active solar discusses the different types and uses of solar collectors. When a solar collector is located on the ground in landscape areas, the landscape design will include provisions under and around the pv collector. Appropriate use of plants, turf and irrigation efficiency are components of sustainable landscaping which will become increasingly important to human comfort and survival.
