Description
This is a 6.5 hour, live lecture presentation with instructor and audience interaction.

This course will cover:
- Soil Classification and Investigations
- Reviewing Hydraulic and Mechanical Properties of Soils
- Determining and Increasing Bearing Capacity
- Determining and Increasing Slope Stability

This program will be conducted in a handicap-accessible conference room with ample seating space and writing surface for everyone in attendance. All participants will receive bound written materials authored/compiled by the faculty members. Attendance will be monitored and reported to LA CES.

Learners will be able to identify properties of soil and establish appropriate soil investigation methods.

Learners will be able to understand compressibility of soil, soil hydraulics, soil permeability, and failures in soils.

Learners will be able to determine and increase the bearing capacity of shallow foundations, piers, and piles.

Learners will be able to discuss slope stabilization concepts and methods.
