Description
This 6.5-hour course provides a detailed examination of erosion and sediment control principles, practices, and regulatory requirements. In addition to covering the environmental impacts of construction and development, federal and state standards, and permitting processes, the course also explores site preparation strategies, stream protection, watershed conservation, and the application of both temporary and permanent structural erosion and sediment control measures.

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to explain erosion and sedimentation processes and identify regulatory requirements under EPA and state standards.
Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to develop erosion and sediment control plans that minimize site disturbance, preserve vegetation, and apply appropriate measures to disturbed areas.
Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to implement best practices for site preparation, stream protection, and watershed conservation during construction activities.
Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to evaluate temporary and permanent erosion and sediment control methods, including perimeter controls, runoff management systems, stabilization techniques, and long-term slope protection.
