Description
Chinese and Japanese gardens are designed to connect with nature on a spiritual level by providing tranquility and subtle beauty. This class will examine these two distinct styles of Asian gardens through design theories, religious beliefs, symbolism, and natural building materials. Many authentic examples will be surveyed through images, plans, and readings, which will then provide examples of various methods and techniques to include these elements into home landscapes.
