Description
This second session of a 3-part lecture series will bring together academics, practitioners, authors, and historians to present unbuilt works in Washington, DC from 1791 to present day. This session will cover a century's worth of schematics, sketches, and plans: 1902 - 1997: Senate Park Commission Plan to NCPC Legacy Plan. Presenters will paint the picture about how the nation's leading minds thought about the Capital City and what we can learn about making a difference on how it might look tomorrow.

Learning Outcomes
Compare the plans for unbuilt works in DC against each other and the built works. Participants will discuss what makes each special and noteworthy.
Assess the built environment as it exists currently in the nation's capital and develop ways to improve it in their professional work.
Apply knowledge of what the Capital City could be to their envisioning of what it looks like tomorrow.
Utilize best practices and cautionary tales from the past in a way that informs their work.
