Description
The Collaborative Design as World Building plenary highlights how municipalities are leading innovative, cross-sector design efforts that respond to the challenges of climate, equity, and public space. This 75-minute session brings together leaders from Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville to share how local government is building partnerships with communities, designers, and institutions to create healthier, more resilient, and more inclusive cities. Panelists will discuss the opportunities and obstacles of designing from within public agencies, focusing on the importance of trust-building, long-term stewardship, and collective ownership of design processes.
