Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcome 1:
Learners will be able to discuss the hydrologic principles and equations used in open channel and culvert analysis, such as energy, continuity and momentum equations.
Learning Outcome 2:
Learners will be able to address special situations affecting culverts such as aquatic organism passage, erosion, sediment transport and deposition, and trash and debris collection/diversion.
Learning Outcome 3:
Learners will be able to identify different types of culverts, explore design software, and utilize energy dissapators and appropriate inlet configurations, depressions and culvert embedment.
Learning Outcome 4:
Learners will be able to examine culvert damage and discuss culvert assessments, inspections, types of repairs, and replacement and the effect repairs and replacement can have on performance.
