Description
This six-hour course examines the design, construction and maintenance of permeable pavements, from site selection to inspection. The course will focus on structural and hydrologic design, ASCE standards, construction techniques, and maintenance. The course concludes with life-cycle analysis and three pertinent case studies.

Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcome 1:
Learners will be able to determine site suitability and analyze structural and hydrologic design of permeable pavements.

Learning Outcome 2:
Learners will be able to discuss the required site preparations, how to deal with nearby utilities, and the installation details when constructing permeable pavements.

Learning Outcome 3:
Learners will be able to maintain pavement surface conditions and water infiltration as well as comply with inspection and monitoring plans.

Learning Outcome 4:
Learners will be able to discuss three specific case studies concerning permeable interlocking concrete, porous asphalt, and pervious concrete, and the lessons learned.
