Description
This introductory session provides an overview of the foundational principles of New Urbanism with a focus on regional scale solutions to today’s interrelated community-building challenges. Guided by the Charter of the New Urbanism, attendees will examine how issues such as disinvestment, sprawl, environmental degradation, and social inequity are interconnected and demand integrated regional responses. An emphasis on the importance of coherence across transportation, housing, economic systems, and ecological frameworks, creates a path toward more walkable, inclusive, and resilient communities.
