This two-hour course explains the importance of wetlands and primarily focuses on the purposes, strategies, methods and techniques of wetland preservation, restoration, creation and enhancement.

Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcome 1:
Learners will be able to explain the importance of wetlands and the environmental services they offer, such as flood storage, nutrient removal, erosion control, habitat for wildlife and recreational opportunities for people.
Learning Outcome 2:
Learners will be able to describe the purposes and techniques of wetland enhancement.
Learning Outcome 3:
Learners will be able to identify the methods of wetland creation and explain the benefits and drawbacks.
Learning Outcome 4:
Learners will be able to explore strategies and techniques of wetland restoration with a preference for onsite and in-kind restoration, while taking into account hydrological considerations.
