The Secret Garden – An Invasive Legacy
Start Date
09/11/2025
End Date

Description
Gardens are a gateway for many people; a storybook portal between our indoor lives and the magnificence of the outdoors. However, these special spaces can be a cause of strife beyond the misery of weeding – many invasive plants have a horticultural origin. This session opens with learning about some of these plants and their impacts on the natural world, but dives deeper – including sharing tools and actions with which landscape architects can play an active part in invasive species management, plus a peek into the wild world of plant regulation.
