This comprehensive course offers a dual focus on integrated pest management (IPM) strategies for controlling invasive plant species in rangeland and natural areas, as well as an exploration of the herbicide selection and approval processes within the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Participants will delve into the various IPM techniques, including cultural, mechanical, biological, and chemical control methods, to develop effective management plans tailored to specific plant species and environmental conditions. Additionally, the course will provide insights into the regulatory framework governing herbicide approval, criteria for environmental use, and the specific requirements and limitations imposed by the BLM on herbicide usage.
