This two-hour course explores the design of multimodal corridors that safely and effectively integrate pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicles. The course examines the benefits of active travel, Complete Streets principles, infrastructure challenges, and design strategies that enhance accessibility and connectivity.

Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcome 1:
Learners will be able to explain the benefits of active transportation and identify the barriers to equitable pedestrian and bicycle access.

Learning Outcome 2:
Learners will be able to discuss the philosophy of Complete Streets and how it can be incorporated into transportation corridor designs.

Learning Outcome 3:
Learners will be able to identify strategies for adapting existing rights-of-way to safely accommodate pedestrian and bicycle traffic.

Learning Outcome 4:
Learners will be able to analyze corridor planning challenges and strategies through the Penns-Brush Valley Connector case study.
