Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcome 1:
Learners will be able to explain how soil conditions can affect structural performance and how subsurface explorations methods and non-destructive test methods can diagnose the causes of foundation damage.
Learning Outcome 2:
Learners will be able to identify common shallow foundation, slabs-on-grade and retaining wall problem causes and design considerations and methods to determine causation.
Learning Outcome 3:
Learners will be able to identify and describe foundation and retaining wall repair methods based on the diagnosis of the problem and its causes.
Learning Outcome 4:
Learners will be able to explain how foundations can be damaged by construction activities at nearby sites and how the activity and damage can be monitored.
