The course explores structural design principles, material properties, and mix design methods, including innovations like performance-based designs and intelligent compaction. It also addresses sustainability practices, such as incorporating recycled materials, life cycle assessments, and sustainability rating systems.

Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcome 1:
Learners will be able to identify various pavement types and design methods and analyze structural design principles of pavement, including empirical and mechanistic-empirical design approaches.

Learning Outcome 2:
Learners will be able to evaluate pavement materials and mix design methods, including performance-based mix designs, for use in rigid and flexible pavements.

Learning Outcome 3:
Learners will be able to explore advances and innovations in pavement construction and adopt best practices for maintenance and rehabilitation.

Learning Outcome 4:
Learners will be able to integrate sustainability practices into pavement projects, including the use of recycled materials, life cycle assessments, and sustainability rating systems.
