Description
This course is designed in two parts – the first one is theory, and the second part is practical. For the first 1 ½ days, participants are provided a thorough understanding of Ecotourism, the different types of facilities and the principles and applications of landscape architectural interventions. Participants also learn about metaphysical site analysis approaches and field-immersion techniques like sketching and macro-photography and meditation.
Over the next 3 ½ days, participants conduct a site visit and put into practice what they have learnt in the first 1 ½ days. They conduct metaphysical analysis, prepare detailed site plans and landscape design philosophies.
COURSE OUTLINE:
First 1 ½ days –
6 powerpoint presentations By Prof. Hitesh Mehta on facility metaphysical analysis, site planning and design, architectural design, biophylic design, eco-material sourcing, climatic design, etc.
1 presentation by local experts on local native plants and their traditional uses etc.
½ Day
Participants visit a live site and conduct individual metaphysical analysis and group physical analysis.
3 Days
Participants prepare Site physical and metaphysical analysis drawings, Conceptual Site plans, eco and socially friendly planning and design philosophies, material lists etc.
End of 5th day
Participants present their work to a pre-selected jury of local academicians / experienced professionals.

i. Learn about exemplary international Landscape Architectural interventions in the most conscious form of tourism – ecotourism.
ii. Learn about the various criteria that define Authentic Ecotourism facilities and important guidelines for site selection, site analysis, site planning, biodiversity conservation, energy conservation and water conservation in pristine areas.
iii. Use innovative site analysis, site planning techniques and sustainable materials and products to conserve biodiversity in ecologically sensitive sites.
