Description
This two-hour short course on concrete pavement will provide an introduction to concrete pavement, analyze various design considerations such as grading, drainage and thickness, discuss the importance, construction and testing of subgrade and subbase layers, and review techniques for placing, curing and jointing the concrete surface layer.

Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcome 1:
Learners will be able to identify different types of concrete pavement, describe the benefits and applications, and review important considerations and terminology.

Learning Outcome 2:
Learners will be able to consider the layout, grading and drainage when designing a roadway and utilize the appropriate materials, mixture design and thickness.

Learning Outcome 3:
Learners will be able to explain the subgrade and subbase layers' contribution to the roadway, explore testing and preparation procedures and discuss the construction process.

Learning Outcome 4:
Learners will be able to examine the production, placing, curing and jointing processes of the concrete surface layer.
