Description
This three-hour course explores the properties, design considerations and pavement applications of roller-compacted concrete (RCC). Roller-compacted concrete has several advantages over traditional concrete placement methods, including density, strength and ease of placement. The course focuses on RCC terminology, benefits, applications, materials, mixture, production, placement and quality assurance.

Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcome 1:
Learners will be able to identify the benefits and applications of roller-compacted concrete and discuss its development and terminology.

Learning Outcome 2:
Learners will be able to utilize the appropriate materials, properties, mixture design, and thickness when designing RCC for pavements.

Learning Outcome 3:
Learners will be able to describe how RCC pavements are constructed, from planning to production and placement, and explain the importance of compaction.

Learning Outcome 4:
Learners will be able to ensure quality of RCC pavements with a focus on density, strength and moisture.
