Description
The Southeastern Region will be hosting the first webinar in our climate action series. This course is intended to provide landscape architects the guidance and tools to become active in climate action The course will go over ASLA’s Climate Action Plan, and guide through understanding what climate threats are being faced in Florida and how landscape architects through their knowledge can become leaders in climate adaptation and mitigation. Case studies of climate adaptation, and regulatory processes, will be presented as examples.

Learning Outcomes
• Presenter will familiarize session attendees with the current state of the environmental crisis in Florida and the need for action now.
• Presenter will help attendees understand the role and responsibilities of Landscape Architects in addressing climate change through adaptation and mitigation strategies, recognizing their potential as leaders in implementing sustainable design practices.
• Presenter will familiarize session attendees with actionable steps using the ASLA Climate Action Field Guide.
• Presenter will apply knowledge in climate adaptation by examining case studies of successful climate adaptation projects.
• Presenter will navigate regulatory processes governing climate-related projects in Florida.
