Description
Hanson Plaza Court, Gallaudet University, Washington, D.C./ Gallaudet UniversityAttendees will take a field trip to Gallaudet University to conduct a DeafScape audit. The session will emphasize discrepancies between accessible and inaccessible design, and participants will learn about access issues through firsthand experiences shared by Deaf people, including DeafSpace/DeafScape consultants and designers and Gallaudet campus architects.

Includes: all-day metro SmartTrip® pass, audit packet and supplies. Moderate walking.

Understand DeafSpace/DeafScape as it relates to landscape architecture, accessibility, and implications for improvements beyond the Americans with Disabilities Act.
