Description
This course is an in depth discussion of tree/plant roots ranging from root forms through physiology, soil micro-organisms, plant growth regulators and root failures. It describes and explains all of the root forms, system types and physiology of each. Root terminology is listed and defined. Root growth is explained in terms including water/mineral uptake, gas exchange and compaction. A detailed description of various fungi and their advantages/disadvantages to root development is included. Tree failures due to root decay/ poor pruning and the risks associated are discussed.
