Description
This two-hour course focuses on the technical, social and regulatory strategies for planning, remediating and redeveloping brownfields. The course will explain how brownfields are cleaned up, the importance of community engagement in crafting redevelopment plans, and describe proper coordination with the appropriate regulators. The course will conclude with a review of pertinent brownfield case studies.

Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcome 1:
Learners will be able to assess remedial treatment options, discuss how to plan for site remediation and restoration, and identify opportunities for assistance grants.

Learning Outcome 2:
Learners will be able to consider community input on remedy selection and coordinate with regulators to pursue specific options for cleanup and redevelopment.

Learning Outcome 3:
Learners will be able to discuss the characteristics of an equitable redevelopment plan and methods of ensuring equity in redevelopment.
