This two-hour course demonstrates how to utilize rainwater harvesting to address local water shortages and handle excess stormwater runoff. The course will focus on rainwater capture, storage, treatment and use.

Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcome 1:
Learners will be able to identify the different types of water resources (potable water, stormwater and wastewater) and their appropriate uses before and/or after treatment.

Learning Outcome 2:
Learners will be able to assess various treatment options for rainwater and integrate the water with other water reuse systems.

Learning Outcome 3:
Learners will be able to utilize appropriately sized capture and storage equipment.

Learning Outcome 4:
Learners will be able to describe how rainwater storage and reuse has been used as a historical solution for water shortages and excess.
