This course is intended to assist design professionals with choosing and planting appropriate grasses, shrubs, flowers and other plants in rain gardens. This course is focused on maximizing the effectiveness and aesthetic beauty of rain gardens through plant selection.

Learning Outcome 1:
Learners will be able to discuss how plants can be used to maximize the effectiveness and beauty of rain gardens.

Learning Outcome 2:
Learners will be able to explain the importance of the aesthetic beauty of rain gardens, particularly how it impacts public acceptance.

Learning Outcome 3:
Learners will be able to adopt strategies of planting and mulching in rain gardens and discuss proper and detailed techniques.

Learning Outcome 4:
Learners will be able to explain how Low Impact Development such as rain gardens can be used to promote biodiversity through plant selection.
