Description
Horticulture is going through a revolution, as our fragile environment becomes increasingly in need of our care. The observation and analysis that is so embedded in this process, and the craftsmanship of tending for a garden, are perfect gateways to thinking about the neglected and overused places beyond the garden. Dan Pearson, whose painterly-naturall landscapes are renowned in Britain and beyond, will demonstrate how landscape design can be the medium that brings together the worlds of nature, agriculture, and garden.

1) Learn how to read a site, look at the indicators that allow for a better understanding of the existing conditions; and to use this information to work with both the positives and the negatives of a site and to make the right moves toward meaningful gain.
2) Understand how the methodologies of meadow creation in the U.K. are wide and varied.
3) Examine how to choose a plant palette appropriate to the site to work with and not against the site conditions, understanding this is key to forming a good foundation to naturalistic planting.
