In this session, Brian Peters (CBCNU) will explore three key opportunities to rebuild black towns and settlements today by working through pre and post-disaster relief efforts in partnership with the Federal Government. The focus will be on fostering resilience, addressing historical injustices, and forging stronger federal partnerships. Attendees will gain valuable insights into actionable steps they can take to actively participate in redeveloping historically black neighborhoods. The session will also delve into the significance of leveraging pre and post-disaster relief efforts for effective rebuilding and discuss methods to rebuild federal trust and partnerships. Additionally, the impacts of disasters on Black and Brown communities will be analyzed.
