Greenroof Assemblies for Stormwater Management

Start Date
12/07/2022
End Date
12/01/2024
Description
This course’s content will provide an overview of green roof benefits, systems and types, with a focus on best management practices for selecting appropriate plant material and mitigating stormwater. A particular focus will be on the relationship between green roof systems, drainage components, and stormwater retention and detention. A case study will illustrate the stormwater retention capabilities of different green roof vegetative systems and surface materials.

Participants will take-away a fundamental knowledge of green roof benefits, systems, components, and plants and a comprehensive understanding of the amount of stormwater runoff that can be mitigated by green vegetative systems.
