Description
Railway stations provide critical elements in the ‘transport chain’ linking the traveller on their journey to satisfy, for example social, environment or economic needs and desires. In other words, stations serve a derived demand that depends upon social, environment or economic demands. The aim of this Webinar is to introduce critical questions (who, why, what, when, how, and where) stations planning and design may strengthen or weaken that transport chain within the socio-urban environment.
The two-hour Webinar presentation will contain a mix of theory and case study examples taken from the global experience of the speaker John Harding (WSP UK Rail Advisory). By the end of this Webinar, you should understand:
1. Who does station Planning and Design
2. Why station planning and design is important for everyone
3. What is the meaning of Station Planning and Design
4. When is Station Planning and Design done
5. How Station Planning and Design is done and can be improved using ‘service design’
6. Where more information about Station Planning and Design can be found
