There are many aspects to consider in regards to landscape lighting design. These aspects are not taught in design school and requires landscape architects to teach themselves lighting. This often becomes secondary to the design process or more often than not, left to be “designed by others”. This course will teach landscape architects the fundamentals of lighting design. We will discuss proper fixture placement, how to control and reduce glare, black holes and create a comfortable atmosphere for the nighttime user.
