Description
Artificial turf is essentially a flooring fabric made from a variety of materials and layers. Since its creation, the artificial turf industry has studied the behavior of natural grass and the safety and sustainability of artificial grass. This course examines today’s artificial grass systems and discusses how they are carefully planned, designed, and built to suit the specific needs of an outdoor residential or commercial landscape.

Explain the function of each component of a synthetic turf system and evaluate the materials that may be used for its manufacture.
Discuss artificial grass systems in terms of their durability, environmental impact, and safety.
Describe the installation process of a synthetic turf system
Examine key synthetic grass selection considerations and explore the advantages of artificial grass systems over natural grass.
Discuss the economic and environmental advantages of installing synthetic grass landscaping by assessing its construction and performance and the LEED® credits which may be available for its use in a landscape project.
Cite application examples and discuss the importance of selecting the correct synthetic turf system for any application or environmental exposure.
