Description
This course covers how to model one- and two-dimensional unsteady hydraulic flow using the HEC-RAS software. Topics include building basic 1D and 2D models, working with (and without) GIS, and viewing and interpreting your results.

Learning Outcomes
Learners will be able to describe the mathematical background and theory of unsteady one-dimensional open channel hydraulics, two-dimensional open channel hydraulics, and one-dimensional steady flow.

Learners will be able to build an unsteady 1D HEC-RAS model using GIS, and explain how to generate the geometry and boundaries when GIS data is not available.

Learners will be to build a 2D HEC-RAS model and view and interpret the results.
