Description
This educational session is an introduction to the manufacturing process for producing precast concrete planters, the fabrication of corten steel, and powder coated steel and aluminum planter systems, as well as custom products. Considerations for specifying these products include discussion for standard vs. customization of products from a Manufacturing perspective. Limitations for sizes in specifying concrete and metal products will be discussed along with exploring potential issues such as compatibility for environment, potential on-site issues, as well as case studies from around the country with lessons learned for consideration.

Learning Outcomes
1.) Limitations for precast concrete planters will be explored as well as the awareness for potential issues.
2.) Participants will also better understand current industry issues for the fabrication and specification of metal planters systems, including material selections, environmental compatibility, customization options, lighting & power integration options.
3.) Lessons learned for both concrete and metal planter systems will be explored through case studies presented.
