Description
This 6.5 hour live, in-person seminar examines soil, roots, biology, biomechanics, and pruning science with the goal of providing knowledge to enhance landscape architects' ability to care for trees. It also covers human practices that harm and kill trees.

Learning Outcomes
Learners will be able to explain where water should be put, how to increase access to what plants need (nutrients), and how trees can be damaged by the over-compaction of soil.

Learners will be able to create an optimum environment for tree roots when planted, and they'll be able to determine when and how to prune tree roots.

Learners will be able to identify how trees react to their environment and quality of care, and they will be able to apply techniques to increase trees' vigor, longevity, and stability.

Learners will be able to describe techniques for pruning trees, which can help trees to recover from ills, increase safety, and increase longevity.
