Description
Designing for the outdoors poses unique environmental challenges. This course will introduce the wide variety of outdoor materials in the marketplace, what makes them unique and how they can be used to create enduring outdoor and indoor spaces. Learn how metals are extruded, fibers woven, teak harvested and how durable fabrics are given their lustrous color. This unit has been designed to educate architects, designers and specifiers on high-end, luxury quality outdoor materials and how best to specify, order and maintain them in residential, hospitality or contract environments. Designers will be better equipped to specify and educate their clients on outdoor materials and end users will learn how to best care for their outdoor furniture to allow for years of use.
