Learners will be able to obtain and interpret flood maps, including flood zone designations and Flood Insurance Rate Maps.

Learners will be able to utilize flood map information to make decisions based on risk assessment and flood insurance availability and cost.

Learners will be able to discuss Letters of Map Change, Letters of Map Amendment, and Letters of Map Revision.

Learners will be able to identify and explain the causes and types of floods.

Learners will be able to reference and comply with National Floodplain Insurance Program, International Building Code, and New York State Building Code development standards.
