Description
This 6.5 live lecture presentation examines the functional and aesthetic benefits of trees, tree biology, soils and tree health, tree/site selection, trees and risk management, tree problem identification, and current threats to trees.

Learning Outcomes
Learners will be able to identify and describe the many function and aesthetic benefits of trees.

Learners will be able to select appropriate and preferred trees to particular development sites, optimally place trees in the site design, understand planting techniques, and explain to owners the process of maintaining trees.

Learners will be able to discuss tree biology and anatomy, preferred site and soil characteristics, water management, and they will be able to identify tree problems and treatment options.

Learners will be able to identify and describe current threats to trees, including the Emerald Ash Borer, Southern Pine Beetle, Crape Myrtle Scale, Hemlock Wooley Adelgid, Gypsy Moth, Thousand Cankers Disease, Bacterial Leaf Scorch, and Sudden Oak Death.
