Description
Many designers are unsure when it comes to designing a lighting portrait. This course will teach designers and landscape architects the fundamentals
of lighting design with regards to fixture placement.

We will discuss how a good design translates onto a plan. Attendees will learn the fundamentals of lighting. Relationship of brightness, levels of light, contrasting fields and how light reacts with a surface.

Learning Outcomes
1. Learn proper fixture placement to reduce black holes, glare and hot spots.
2. Learn how to select the proper fixture for the proper location (uplight, downlight, wall washer, area light.)
3. Learn how to use ambient lighting for walkways and pathway lighting.
4. Learn proper wire design, wiring sizing and transformer sizing.
5. Learn how to establish depth in a lighting design.
