Description
This live seven-hour live lecture presentation examines the principles of low impact development (LID), involving the local community of stakeholders to encourage LID practices, sustainable onsite stormwater management and choosing best management practice, and site design development considerations.

Learning Outcomes
Learners will be able to explain principles of low impact development, including stormwater management, natural resource conservation, and infrastructure access.

Learners will be able to identify and describe the LID benefits to project owners, the public, municipalities, environment, and developers.

Learners will be able to select best management practices for sites, including bio-retention, filter strips, vegetated buffers, rain gardens and barrels, infiltration trenches, dry wells, and cisterns.

Learners will be able to adopt LID practices to achieve LID goals, including replacing traditional concrete with impervious concrete and permeable pavers, repurposing existing sites, avoiding greenfields, reducing disturbances during construction, and designing for walkability and bikeability.
