Pavers: Advantages, Manufacturing Process and Environmental Advantages

Start Date
05/14/2019
End Date

Description
This course is designed to educate Architects and Landscape Architects on the advantages of using pavers. The variety in shape, size and color of pavers offer many design options. The units offer a visually stimulating surface that can vary in colors and aggregate which can be combined in various ways to bring a distinct look to any project. Pavers are a segmental paving system which allows for expansion and contraction without producing surface cracks. This course will also touch on the environmental advantages of using pavers specifically on how they can help reduce Heat Island effects and also help reduce stormwater runoff by allowing stormwater to infiltrate and recharge the ground water rather than burden a municipal stormwater and sewer system.
