Description
It is a great introduction for landscape professionals who are looking to get into dry stone walling.

Over the course of two days each participant will build about 35 sq. ft. of wall (one side), using either round field stone, flat ledge stone or a mix of both. Participants will learn all the basic rules of structural walling that can be applied to any type of stone and project. Experienced participants will work on building a wall end, also known as a cheek end.

The two day format gives more time questions about your specific projects, learning stone shaping basics, and even splitting stones using feathers and wedges.

The workshop begins with a brief verbal and visual introduction covering safety, basic terminology, and methods.

Goals for the workshop include:
Safe construction practices
Understanding walling terminology
Basic knowledge of correct building methods and techniques
Ability to identify properly built walls.
After attending a workshop, participants will have the knowledge to build their own dry stone walls in a safe and structurally sound manner. The workshop also helps train participants to identify correct walling methods and techniques in all dry stone walls.
