End Date

Description
The U.S. Botanic Garden is dedicated to demonstrating the aesthetic, cultural, economic, therapeutic, and ecological importance of plants to the well-being of humankind. The USBG fosters the exchange of ideas and information relevant to national and international partnerships. The USBG carries out this mission by promoting botanical knowledge through the cultivation of an ordered collection of plants; presenting displays of plants, exhibits and educational programs to the Congress and the public; and fostering sustainability and plant conservation.

This education session includes a guided tour of the USBG Conservatory and exterior grounds, including the National Garden and SITES® Gold Certified project Bartholdi Park. The tour will be led by Nick Nelson, a registered Landscape Architect at the US Botanic Garden. For ten years, Nick has led in-house teams and contractors to plan, design and execute exhibits and garden improvements, always seeking to balance display and education. Nick began his career at Longwood Gardens, as Planning and Design Assistant, and spent time in private practice, at LSG Inc.
