Description
This webinar discusses myths about urban trees and soils by showing examples of how and why these common design thoughts are incorrect. The following issues are discussed: organic matter versus compost need, trees use organic matter, mycorrhiza treatments and landscape soil, sand in soil mixes for landscape areas versus golf and athletic turf, soil screening, soil installation, tree grates protect the tree, all urban soils are horrible, redefining usable soil, salt damage, and high pH must be lowered. Ways to design differently to avoid these urban tree and soil myths are discussed.
