Today's changing season climate conditions have introduced new behaviors and impacts on synthetic turf fields. This session will explore these climate changes, how they impact the athletic field, and best practices for field design and material selection.
Water / Stormwater Management
Health, Safety and Welfare
• Recognizing changing seasonal climate conditions in geographical locations throughout US. Freeze/thaw cycles and increasing temperatures affect material selection and design for athletic venues.
• Understanding rainfall intensity, durations, and high groundwater tables and how they can design facilities appropriately to allow for these changing conditions
• Informing of sub-surface soil conditions and their potential impacts along with sub-surface drainage collection systems and how they discharge
• Explaining how to properly select the correct synthetic turf field and facility products based on regional climate conditions
