This is a 6.5 hour live lecture presentation covering New York erosion and sediment control requirements and practices, goals for and selection of erosion and sediment control practices, structural and non-structural erosion and sediment control practices, protecting stream banks, and formulating erosion and sediment control practices.

Learning Outcomes
Learners will be able to reference and comply with New York erosion and sediment control requirements and federal Environmental Protection Agency regulations, and they will be able to determine the goals for and the selection of erosion and sediment control practices, including those around disturbed areas and construction sites.

Learners will be able to identify and describe structural erosion and sediment control practices, including earthen dikes, pipe drains, silt fences, check dams, drainage swales, subsurface drains, and berms.

Learners will be able to identify and describe non-structural erosion and sediment control practices, including temporary and permanent seeding, sodding and mulching, establishment of buffer zones, geotextiles, and chemical treatments.

Learners will be able to explain strategies for protecting stream banks from erosion and for stabilizing and repairing stream banks, particularly around development sites.
