Description
Session will focus on water quality and quantity requirements of typical turf species used in athletic fields for system planning and operational purposes. These requirements will then be compared to expected water quality and quantity of various non-potable water sources. Water treatment options to mitigate poor quality and irrigation management strategies for long term use of reclaimed water will also be explored as well as budgeting for anticipated water treatment equipment.

Through this session, the participant will understand what to test irrigation water for; how to interpret water quality test results and identify potential problems; understand water treatment options available to treat various water quality issues both from a turf health and a human health perspective; and how to manage irrigation systems supplied from non-potable water supplies.
