Introductory Workshop: One Day Indoor
Up To 16 Participants With Certified Instructors. Open To Everyone. $275.
Indoor workshops are ideal as a basic introduction to dry stone walling. The workshops are held indoors at the Stone Trust Center. The indoor space is heated and lit making the space a comfortable learning environment. Workshops consist of up to 16 participants and certified instructors.
It is great introduction for landscapers who are looking to get into dry stone walling.
The workshop begins with a brief verbal and visual introduction covering safety, basic terminology, and methods. Participants then begin dismantling their section of wall, sorting the stone.
Over the course of the day each participant will build about 25 sq. ft. of wall (one side), using round field stone stone. Participants will learn all the basic rules of structural walling that can be applied to any type of stone and project.
Goals for the workshop include:
Safe construction practices
Understanding walling terminology
Basic knowledge of correct building methods and techniques
Ability to identify properly built walls
After attending a workshop, participants will have the knowledge to build their own dry stone walls in a safe and structurally sound manner. The workshop also helps train participants to identify correct walling methods and techniques in all dry stone walls.
