Drones, data, and three dimensions

Description
Drones are here (well, not HERE here, but they are available!) The information they collect is a powerful way to reduce time, cost, and safety risk in your projects. Jon Altschuld has developed a robust workflow to import drone data to produce design studies, volume calculations, simulations, and aesthetic renderings. This session examines this workflow in the context of a large civil engineering project on Colorado’s I-70 corridor.

Learning Outcomes
1. Participants will learn the basics of using drones as a method of collecting landscape
imagery.
2. Participants will see how drone data can be used to reduce potential problems in the
construction phase during the design phase.
3. Participants will learn how drone data can be used to quickly estimate material needs.
4. Participants will see how drones data can be used to generate landscape imagery that ismore realistic than standard computer rendered imagery.
