Description
This course describes what distinguishes urban soils from native soils, the problems with urban soils including compaction, lack of nutrients, low volumes, human activity, etc., lack of water and temperature extremes. It discusses soil compaction and soil bulk density in relation to soil amendments and other mitigation means. Man-made mitigation techniques and the role of pH are also discussed.
