This is a 6.5 hour live lecture presentation with the instructors and students together in the same room. It will be conducted in a handicap-accessible conference room with ample seating space and writing surface for all attendees. Bound written materials, authored by the faculty, will be distributed to all participants at the program. Attendance will be monitored and reported to LA/CES.
This course covers wetland identification, federal and state wetland law and enforcement, the role of wetlands, wetland permitting, and wetland preservation, restoration and creation.

Learners will be able to identify wetlands based on the presence of particular vegetation and soils, and they will be able to discuss the importance of the underaying wetland hydrology found in these areas.
Learners will be able to reference federal and state wetland law as well as the federal and state agencies tasked with enforcing the laws.
Learners will be able to identify what permits are needed for particular projects impacting wetlands and they will be able to participate in the process of obtaining such permits.
Learners will be able to describe the vital environmental role of wetlands, and they will be able to discuss issues and processes of preserving, restoring and creating wetlands.
